paid jobs and given equal importance as it makes the workforce more diverse. Gender diversity is

necessary because of increased laws on women rights. However, there are increased cases of

disagreements, arguments and sexual harassment cases which can affect the company’s image.The

CEO of Uber and other top officials have resigned for the same which deeply affected the image of

Uber. Cultural differences may not have common ground which may also lead to increased

arguments and less creative discussion. Some ethnic groups have a natural bias against some other,

which may hamper the creation of a healthy work environment. Personal grudges can kill

innovation and lower productivity, making it difficult for the business to sustain.

Communication barriers also lead to inefficiency as people are not understanding the other point of
view which leads to ambiguity and confusion. If there isn’t mutual understanding then there isn’t
any benefit to the firm. Mistrust and stereotyping is not healthy for the firm’s survival in the long
run. The management would be constantly busy with solving worker issues and giving less
importance to client issues which is harmful as the Customer is the King, if the customer is
unsatisfied the firm will not last for long. Moreover, employees will lack trust and may feel insecure
which eventually affects the experience for the customer. If the employee is not happy to do his
work, then the firm will not be able to utilise the employee’s full potential. However, common
ground can be reached if the organisational structure is created strategically to use diversity as an
advantage and reduce unproductive arguments.

Malcolm Forbes rightly stated “Diversity:the art of thinking independently together.”
