BEAUTY

Beauty- What defines beauty and who gets to decide that? Is it the
colour of your flesh or the label that depicts the size of the clothes you
wear, or is it in the eyes of a man who's looking at his lady love
walking down the aisle or in those of parents who have laid eyes on
their newborn child for the first time?

There is a saying which goes like beauty lies in the eyes of the
beholder, a sentence that could not be truer. As beauty is seen only by
those who have the mindfulness to appreciate it, cherish it and
acknowledge it. If you ever actually stop and look around you will
find beauty in the simplest things in life, the way the stars twinkle in
the dark, calm night sky forcing you to stop all that you're doing in
that moment and just be. It is in the soft rustling of the leaves while
you're taking a stroll in a field somewhere on a windy autumn day. It
is in those moments you know you will never forget with people who
may fade away but leaving memories that can never be tarnished.
Beauty is when you see the pure joy on a child’s face when it lights up
as he's received the gift he's been longing for on Christmas or the look
of happiness and gratitude on the face of an orphan or a homeless
person when you’ve helped them out of the goodness of your heart.
That smile changes so many things doesn't it? Humanity is beauty. For
me, beauty also exists in that millisecond when you make brief eye
contact with your best friend and you just know what they are thinking
and you both just laugh out loud because well, why not? Its that
understanding, compassion, passion, confidence and kindness that
makes things beautiful.
