         JAM CAMP

On the 26th and the 27th of November, the Well-Being Centres of JNS and JNIS
conducted an Interpersonal

Skills Training Camp, or more commonly known as JAM camp, for the newly elected JAM
members of grades 9 and 11 from both schools.

Over the course of these two days, students were taught about the basic knowledge, skills and
values that JAM members were required to possess through various methods, including movies,
activities and discussions.

Before the first session of the day, a short introduction took place, where the students were divided
into 8 small groups. Each activity was to take place within these groups and with the entire group as
a whole.

The first session of the day was about trust – a crucial value that JAM members must understand. In
order to explain this value, an activity was carried out. This activity was similar to the ‘trust fall’
activity often seen in entertainment media, however, with a few modifications.
This activity posed as an ice-breaker and was followed by a discussion. As this was the first session,
hesitation and discomfort was observed amongst students, but this soon reduced with the following
sessions.

The second session was about confidentiality – a value without which being a JAM member would
be almost impossible. For this session, a discussion within the group took place, followed by a
